Mile End Rd, Coleford GL16 7QD Mobile: 07733 104 062 (Malcolm) / 07733 104 758 (Pauline)

We are friendly and patient instructors based in Coleford, Gloucestershire and we welcome new drivers and nervous pupils.

Our aim is to get as many pupils through their practical driving tests with as few attempts as possible but at the same time ensuring that they are going to be safe on the roads in all conditions!

We are :

  • Fully qualified Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructors
  • RoSPA advanced drivers – Gold grade
  • DVSA Registered Fleet Driver Trainers
  • Members of the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving (IMTD), Driving Instructors Association (DIA), Motor Schools Association (MSA) and Approved Driving Instructors National Joint Council (ADINJC) and Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Driving Instructors Association
  • Very experienced having taught for over fifteen years !

Gentle Beginnings

We teach you to handle your vehicle safely and confidently in a wide variety of circumstances, starting in quiet streets and other stress-free environments. Gradually taking on more challenging situations, so that when you take your test you are in the best possible position to “PA55 WEL(L)”

Hazard Perception

Learn how to ‘read the road ahead’, helping to avoid committing traffic offences, such as turning where you are not permitted to do so. Recognising potential problems, such as pedestrians stepping out in front of your vehicle, cyclists in traffic ahead and suchlike.

Careful Driving

We want you to learn to be a safe and considerate driver, aware of other road users and able to plan ahead as you drive. Such as in situations where changing traffic lights and stationary traffic may require areas of road to be kept clear. Situations where box junctions are placed so that surrounding traffic may move freely.

In Heavy Traffic

Gain the confidence required to deal with busy and challenging traffic situations, such as when passing caravans and long vehicles. Sudden sidewinds between tall and long vehicles are just one of many issues that motorists must take into consideration.

At Junctions

We will prepare you for dealing with junctions and roundabouts, especially where drivers of large heavy vehicles may not easily ‘see’ you and require large areas in which to manoeuvre. When you pass your test you will have all the skills you need for today’s congested roads.

Unusual Conditions

Adapting to new circumstances is a part of everyday driving. Learning to be aware of local traffic demands and regulations, where mixed traffic types may combine in challenging situations. We want you to have a lifelong safe driving experience. Developing the skills you’ll need for today’s congested roads.

“I have been learning with Malcolm and Pauline for nearly two years. I found it a real struggle to get through my test due to nerves and had to take it 7 times before passing. I am delighted to have finally passed my test and I couldn’t have done it without Malcolm and Pauline. It was hard to stay motivated but Malcolm and Pauline both encouraged me to keep at it and went the extra mile for me to ensure that I would get my licence! They have given me loads of confidence and are incredibly patient and down-to-earth. We always had a laugh and I got on with both of them brilliantly. They paid attention to the areas I needed to improve and worked hard to ensure that my driving skills were continuously improving and that I was gaining more confidence behind the wheel. Thanks for everything Pauline and Malcolm, I will keep in touch and will be doing my Pass Plus with you too! ”

Malcolm and Pauline are fantastic teachers. They have given me the confidence to learn to drive in my 40s, and gain this life skill which I previously thought beyond me. They have the knowledge and experience to explain all aspects of safe, confident driving. I looked forward to my lessons and felt I always came away with new or improved techniques and understanding. Their patient, friendly approach has let me progress at my speed and, amazingly, enabled me to pass my test in little over a year. Thank you so much for showing me how to enjoy being behind the wheel. You’re the best.

Matthew Macer-Wright

Littledean

“Pauline and Malcolm are very supportive teachers, if you are concerned about having driving lessons due to confidence this isn’t a issue with either of them. They teach you at all times with a calm tone and friendly approach, which is suitable for nervous drivers. I was very nervous with very little confidence when I started my driving but they have both built me up to become a safe and eager student wanting to be on the road. They will always be patient with your abilities and downfalls throughout. I highly recommend them both, if it wasn’t for their certain approach towards me I wouldn’t be a happy, safe driver today.”
